razor blade, or some very high pressured air.

-and try not to scrap too much aluminum off the engine.

Hammer and Chisle ... or the good old Impact Chisle Works Like a Charm :D

Razor Blades work , Spray some PB Blaster on the Gasket ... Work's for me

Permatex makes a spray gasket remover ,I think autozone or advance carries it.I have never tried it.

I always use a dremel with a soft wire wheel. Works good!

You need an actual "gasket scraper" Something with a long handle and a sharp chisel like end. That you can gently scrape the gasket off with. I also use a puddy knife that I put a sharpened end on.

There is also a spray can "gasket remover" and it works good, but it may discolor some painted surfaces. Seems to be very similar to oven cleaner - hey , you may want to try that!!

I have used lighter fluid, it does a pretty good job, also. I never used a gakset scraper, but a razor blade.

I have used the Permatex Gasket Remove Spray and it works great. It is probably and an acid. It will attack paint instantly and aluminum over time.
Can be found a Autozone.
