85 250es motor help?

I can't get this rev piece of my cover. It should just pop off no?

Please help as I can't afford to break any more parts.

dont mean to jack the post but i have trouble with my engine 2.. i put another flywheel bearing in mine put it all back together right slipped in onto the key way right put it all bac ktogether she is gettin fire, shes gettin her gas cleaned the carb done everything wit it and she wotn make an attemp..

You may need a small gear puller to get that off,Harbor freight has them cheap,a battery cable puller might work to

that is pressed on. it looks like a cone when its off. the shaft all i did was tap the thing and pull it with my hand 6 to 15 times and it came off

yep, that bolt pulls it onto a tapered shaft, gear puller, or be carefull with a screwdriver/hammer combo. but it should come off
