Does anyone have a close up picture of how the top radiator hose Is routed on a 84-85 T3? That Is a sweet lookin ride by the way, I kinda like the seat.

scooterroo
02-04-2007, 08:10 PM
the top radiator hose drops right down from the top of the radiator just off center of it. follows the neck , under the tank and into the top of the head.

digity x
02-07-2007, 07:30 AM
yeah it sucks but at least a have two other machines to ride until that tecate is done so its not that bad.but i want to ride my sweet t3''

BigGreenMachine
02-07-2007, 02:12 PM
I'm without a ride until my KX frame arrives and then I've still got a ton of fab for this thing to be reliable.

Going on my cousins Arctic-Cat F7 in about an hour though, that should be an awsome fix for now at least.

Dig, the more I look the cleaner your T3 gets. Looks unmolested for sure.

Think a white basecoat would lighten that green up on the gas tank?

digity x
02-07-2007, 06:45 PM
oh i want to molest her real bad'' give her the works ya no'' i bought a new dg pipe for a 100 bucks from 250rulzes so just need silencer and some motor parts and this slick green three wheeled beast should be ready. yeah maybe your right about the paint.i cant believe you cant buy lime green paint to match up the tank to the fenders.must check in to it further.

Do you have the stock stator setup? Get the OEM stator plate rebuilt if you do, OEM is better then Rickey Stator by far.

digity x
02-07-2007, 07:37 PM
i have whatevers on the bike its shot looks like a dirtbike stator?stock is better then rickey stator you say? all i want is to put the parts on her and start her ass up. need to be steered in the right direction if you no what i meen.

Heres the KX250 stator and flywheel setup. Its a great upgrade but you need the CDI box to go with it.

Rickey Stator stator and flywheel combos, according to Corey Sprock have been notorious for causing meltdowns in Tecate motors. Basicly they are timed wrong from the get go.

I've had two of their systems and could never get it on correct timing and lost two motors with them installed. (not saying they directly cost me a motor but hey)

I've ran the rebuilt OEM stator plate and flywheel directly after taking off an RS system and it ran perfect, no problem setting timing at all.

Moose53 on here can rewind OEM stator coils and reglue OEM flywheel magnets if the glue is cracked. Thats the only way to go if yours is shot.

That or PVL but they cost $360+,,,,,

RS is a waste of money IMO when you can have your OEM stuff rebuilt for cheap. Say 100 max compared to 250 for a complete setup. (that might not work)

Here is a complete KX250 setup to give you an idea of what you have.

02-07-2007, 09:06 PM
no way who has it and what do i need to install it?

BigGreenMachine
02-07-2007, 09:07 PM
Yup, complete with mounting instructions and everything. PVL is the way to go if you arent tight trail riding. No lights though.

BigGreenMachine
02-07-2007, 09:09 PM
Penton Racing I think? Ebay had a seller on there too. Search Tecate.

scooterroo
02-07-2007, 09:09 PM

digity x
02-07-2007, 09:20 PM
sounds good thanks fellas for the info no need for lights and im sure no tight trails for this t3'' git r dun''

BigGreenMachine
02-07-2007, 10:09 PM
$60 maybe lower...I wouldnt over pay. Doesn't make sense to me to buy an expensive one when you can repair a ragged out one for less.

The magnets on the flywheel have a tendancy of coming off since they are glued on and you can imagine what happens when one lets loose inside. Always a good idea to have an older one refurbed.

scooterroo
02-07-2007, 11:25 PM
they got a pvl on ebay right now for 370 plus shippng, i sent you the auction in your email. these would work great on the bikes and no need to worry bout tight trails, especially while at the lake or the pit. and lights arent a biggy either, since when do we use lights? lol, outlaw style baby!!!

digity x
02-08-2007, 05:34 PM
ok i guess im going to buy the pvl setup but they say they have different types of ignition for the t3 depends on how you ride so for me its just trail riding and jamming out on my track the pit lake riding so what do i get the fixed timeing one? all i want to do is install it and ride so whatevers the easyest i want it.parts are coming this week boys.

scooterroo
02-08-2007, 05:51 PM
well the trails we ride arent all that congested, we can open the bikes up pretty good, the lake is wide open throttle, and the pit is nice and open also, and the track is flat out race our asses off... we dont really do to much slow riding, thats what your x is for, guess its upto you. what do you mean they have different types for the t3?

digity x
02-08-2007, 06:00 PM
not 3 different types i meen different timeing curves read the one on ebay it will tell ya,

digity x
02-09-2007, 07:12 PM
man i dont no what to do? i here some people say ricky stator is good, then some people say they are junk, well i say to myself Dan what are you going to do? looks like dan is buying the pvl setup guys oohhhhhh yeah no other choice i guess nobody has a stock stator and flywheel for sale so i guess its the pvl, man i cant wait its killing me now i no how poor scooterrppoo feels.

scooterroo
02-09-2007, 10:03 PM
