i was talking to a buddy at work the other day about twist throttles instead of the thumb ones. but the problems with those and bumps dont mix that well. thats when it hit me . . . A jet ski trigger throttle. has any body tried this will it can it work i dont have my jetski any more to check maybe someone can compare
It should work. I have done the swap with my ski. Cables wont interchange though....obviously!!!
I did it on a 87 js550

The first thought that hit me is that you could find yourself in an unexpected WOT situation in certain circumstances like tight woods/brush. Otherwise, it seems like a cool idea.

actually, that is how they came from the factory, but I think it was only the 1980-81 models. after that they put thumb throttles on all of the YTs. I would like to know what made them abandon the idea?:wondering It seems like it would be easier to use and wouldn't hurt your thumb as much. It does really suprise some people when they see it though! I hope I can get the parts for it soon and have it running.

jet ski throttle is a pull trigger. it is mounted towards the front side of the bars and you squeeze pull towards you with your first 2 fingers
