Hey guys and girls, I picked up this afformentioned bike today at a friends house.
I was standing near some bushes looking for a parts carb left on the ground from months past and I noticed this little red almost glowing turd lying in the yard. I ran over and had a look and fell in love.
I immediately said "whos bike is this and does it run?"
responded by "its mine and it runs"
Then I said "50 bucks says its mine"
responded by "SOLD"
I had a slight pause followed by a very light cardiac arrest.
Then the *%&#$*# girlfriend said (as I reached into my wallet) "you just spent 25 on that brand new tire"
So I got me a new bike for $75. Haven't driven it because it has spark issues. He said last time it ran he hit 2nd gear hauling butt on all flats then parked it. Got a new tire and didn't touch it.
I am eyeballing a uni air filter on ebay because as the picture shows, there is no air cleaner. He said it didn't smoke. I am thinking the points are screwed up on it. Also needs a carb rebuild kit but should work fine in the meantime. Man that pull start wire SUCKS! Had to put new rope because the current one was about 20 inches long. Front tires good, got patched just gotta pick up a matching tire for the one I was forced to purchase but all in all I feel like I got a pretty good deal. Also checking out a 1mm high rise cam on ebay LOL what the heck for 15 bucks.:TrikesOwn

so just as a curiosity why are these little things so desirable. I see alot of posts about guys finding them and getting "as giddy as a school girl".
I just had one given to me. but have never ridden one. Its in decent shape but has an issue with plug fouling. I just thought it would be a good machine for the kid to learn on (in about 4 years).
Dont get me wrong I love free stuff. But should I be more excited. Or is it more of a final piece to finish off a collection.

Cool man I'd appreciate parts, thanks for the links. It actually looks like crap because it rained and the mud splattered up on it, quite possibly the best looking atv I own. I will wash it and then try and get some pics of popping wheelies! Ther only thing I can fault it for is the tear in the seat. The tires being flat are not a big deal, the plastics are flawless!
I don't have much experience with metal tanks. My trx250x just got a new plastic oversized tank but I don't wanna drop any money in this bike unless I must. I found plastic tanks on ebay for about 75 shipped from a reputable dealer I get from occasionally. I think I read somewhere you are supposed to fill the tank with some sort of cleaning agent and close up shop, slosh it around then drain it all out. That was supposed to get rid of all the rust on the inside. I believe they said to do that with rocks and some kind of fluid. Anyhow the back brake works very well surprisingly. It's just too friggin cold outside to go and play. I am about to take a look at this tri moto 175 and then some lady wants to trade my moto4 for an F250 diesel so I gotta check that out.
Anyone knows a proper way to clean the tank I'd appreciate it greatly. Thanks!

this is how I cleaned my 2 tanks for my 90 & 110: I got TSP heavy duty cleaner from the hardware store . follow the directions on the container for the mix. cover the holes, put some nuts in the tank with the mix and shake it around. do it till you think the tank is clean of all the old gas residue. rince with HOT water till clean. get some cleaner called THE WORKS, its a toilet bowl cleaner or shower cleaner. or any cleaner like it. dump it in with the nuts and shake it around. let it sit for a few and do it again. make sure you tip it upside down also. the acid will clean the tank really good. dump it and rinse with HOT WATER several times to make sure its clean. do it again till your satisfied with it. mine only took 1 time. make sure you dry it really good. I used a hair dryer and air compressor. mine turned out really good. if you want you can put a inline filter in.

There will most definetly be some in-line filters going in that booger. The only thing I consistently hate about Hondas is the stupid metal tanks. Least now they are making plastic ones now!
