250r engine swapping

What year 250r engines will bolt up in an 85 ATC250R? Aren't the 88/89 cases different around the rear swingarm and engine mount?

85-89 engines externally mount wise are all the same. The frame mounts on the 88-89 were different for the swingarm mounting but the engine stayed the same.
