how about a 1985 200x rear shock swap

Hey folks,
Anyone know of a aftermarket shock or one that can be interchanged with the factory 85 200x shock...............can they be rebuilt?
I had taken my OEM shock to the local dealer to ask about getting a recharge and they looked at me like I had lobsters crawling out my ears.:crazy:

So I once again are asking the very knowledgeable community of 3WW for help in what avenues there are to travel.

I am sooooo close to having my X a rolling chassis!!!

I just rebuilt my 84 200x shock. I got the seal and wiper from racetech.I just took it apart and replaced the seal filled it up with atf.i then took it to a local cycle shop to have it refilled with nitrogen.They charged me like 12 bucks.look at your shaft and see if it is pitted at all.If its pitted then look for another shock.

My brother put a car shock in the rear of his 200X and it works perfectly. I will find the length and let you know.
