View Full Version : How much too offer!!
There is a lady at my work that has this 85 200x that her dad gave her recently. She doesn't want to keep it and wanted to know if I wanted to buy it. Well I told her that I might be interested and would think about it and let her know Friday. She asked me too make her an offer. So here we are. How much to start off at and how high to go? Now the details, the bike was bought new in 85 by her dad. Has been garage kept. Has an excellent record of maintenance. I know the owner of the shop he had it serviced at. The motor is strong and sounds just as good.

although i think it is worth more, i would offer around 300-400 dollars.. see what she has to say, worst she can say is no..

I say start at 6-700. That looks like quite the clean 200x!

looks in real good shape. 400-500 is my suggestion although it's probably worth a little more.

i would start low too. 500.00 well worth 500.00
That's kind of what I was thinking. But should I make the first offer. Or should I ask her what she she wants then shoot her a price.

yea ask hur first
Yeah! I don't want to insult her buy throwing a 400.00 offer and her thinking more. I'll ask her tommorow what she wants and go from there.

Ask her as far as you know she wants 50 bucks for it!

Just so you are aware, the advice above is coming from the grand master of low-ball-jack-ass offers...
I say offer low..but not low enough that when she tells people how much it sold for they dont tell her she got ripped....$350

Seriously, why take advantage of her for not knowing what its worth. :banned:
I agree with Yama, start around $400.

Ask her what she's looking to get , But in that condition $700 bucks easy ... and a Fair Price .

I think $7-800 sounds like a good offer. I paid $725 for my old 83 200x and its not in nearly as good of shape.

She has probably already checked on E-bay to see what they are going for. So to be safe, I'd ask her to make the first offer. I just sold my old 200x a couple of weeks ago for $300.00 but it was not as clean as this one.
Well she wasn't at work but she left me a message that she was thinking about 900 but wasn't really sure it was worth all that much. Now when I see her I'm going to shoot her a price of 550 and work from there. Hope to have it by next weekend.
