I am all wound up right now and what to share this with you. As Some of you know I came up with some old ATV News Magazines and there was an ad in the back for a Tiger Dealer hear in PA. I looked them up on the internet and they were still in business so I had to give out a call.. I was asking about parts and the guy says” why don’t you just buy a new Tiger” WHAT!!!!!  I” I got one out in the warehouse with 10hrs on it” Well I went today and just couldn’t pass it up.. SEE PICS. Also he had a standard length axle because according to him the came with std. axles and a customer wanted the extended so He ordered one in and swapped it out. I asked about the axle and he reaches behind the counter and pulls it out. So I bought that axle because my 200 is missing the correct axle. That’s all he had in parts except the brand new rad scoop for the 250..BUT!!! I did get the original Certificate of Origin!!!! Wow this is nuts.:w00t: He is going to look for the manuals and make me a copy(he collects manuals and does not want to get rid of the originals. Check out the Warehouse!!! A real nice guy and I am glad I got a chance to meet him. He is into resto of old bike and has a grreat collection of vintage street/dirt bikes.

now my 200 has a friend to sit beside in the garage. Its in nice shape no cracks on the fenders and the trike 95% all there!!!:Bounce He said it has about 10hrs it was raced once at a local track and mostly demo rides. But He was a dealer that sold about 4 units except this one and the title is unsigned so I guess I am the original owner lol:lol: Can you believe it was just sitting around for 20yrs!!!!

Haha, man that story is too good to be true, what were your thoughts when he said why don't you just buy a new Tiger, did ya just want to grab him by the throat and say where is it, but you knew you had to keep your cool incase there really was a new one somewhere. Strange that it has a Works rear shock? Number plates must be hard to find too? Very good find.

blue27
01-18-2007, 12:11 AM
Thanks all
I could not talk when he told me he had a new one.

My 200 has the works shocks also, and I do not think tey had number plates, pics I have from some mags do not show a plate

My 250 has the same Works rear shock. My shock does not have a remote res., but it looks like you could add one to it. Or is that just the relief valve?

Ive got a question. On the top rear of the head, the support mount hole, what if anything connects to that?

blue27

I will try and answer that tomorrow, I think my 200 has something but it looks homemade and I do not know with the 250.

Blue, that is unreal man. Congrats on the find of a lifetime. When you find the third tiger, are you going to cut me in on the action like I did with you on a suspension 70? Have you fired it yet? What else did the guy have that he was parting with? I saw a couple interesting pieces in the trailer.

blue27
01-18-2007, 05:30 AM
I will think of you when I find the third. lol This guy had all kinds of rare vintage bikes. Kawa Triples water Buffalos, Jawas, he was restoring a Triumph for a customer and a Tri-Ton also. Indians Coopers, a Rickman, you name it it was there. I am still working on the A+ I put your old motor in the 85 frame and it does run awsome. Wait to you see what I just did with the A+ Frame.:naughty:

I'll say $2150, thinking along the lines that the owner himself was not very money hungry at all and gave him a great deal.

Na I'll say under $1000. Guy has had it sitting out in a storage box, after 20 years he wants it gone

Under a 1000 HUH? He must not know at all about any trike websites then.

Good to have ignorant people around that don't drive the price of them up so high.

I still think I'm closer though, we shall see, I hope.

I've read very little on Tigers. I'm assuming they were primarily racers.

Were they a great handler?

Did they have tons of power?

What I'm wondering is "what did they do well?"

Cool find BTW.

Yes and yes. The power of the tiger has been described as a punch in the chest.

Its also because its american made, and less then 500 were ever made!

This Tiger was about 1 and half hours from me just south of Allentown above Pottstown. When I had it loaded I showed the guy the ad from the 1985 ATV News that he had placed and said" see that add finally paid off...22yrs later" lol
My 200 I bought from Mac Moore in Redlion, I guy who raced Trikes both local and National and I knew from back when I raced quads. He never wanted to sell it and I had not seen him in like 10yrs and ran into him on eBay of all places and asked if he wanted to sell it and well... that where the first one came from.

PS I paid more for the 250 then the 200:naughty: :naughty:

You home next weekend of the 27th?

Beautiful country you have down there, I would go to on occassion Shady Maple restuarant and have HUGE meals there. Been over 10 years that I did that though and besides I ate way too much anyway.

I lived down Pottstown way (Douglasville) for a few years.

So, ya going to be home??

I am planning a restore since it like 98% all there and original.

Sorrry Brapp, I had no idea that you had money on it, I called after reading a 22year old ad on a chance of finding some parts or at least some old paperwork, (see ad posted earlier), He said I got a new one and I showed up with cash and I dug it out of the trailer plus I bought the NOS axle also.
