I want to hook up an air horn. Should work on a bike with a battery. Just pick up that $26 autozone horn.

You just pick(ed) one up? Let me know how it works if I understand you right.
I'd love to do the same thing.
Got a pic of the whole assembly?

Bad wording, my fault. I dont have one.......I know that Autozone and Orielys offer a dual air horn setup. I helped my brother put one on his car, real easy to do. All you have to do is wire the compressor, and hook up a button. I rekon one would work on a big red.
I would be all over it, but I dont have a bike with a battery anymore

Cool idea.
Generally slower riders in front of me look behind and notice I'm there & pull over to let me pass. My "R" is loud enough to let them know I'm there without any horn.

when slow riders are infront of me on the mx track, I hold the cluth in and give it gas, they move rather quickly. This really pisses off quad guys, to get passed by a trike!!!! I don't like it when slow bike guys are infront on me, they tend not to move and make it rather difficult to be passes, when they hear and see you behind them trying to get around, they move directly in your way. I like that idea of the horn, I do that with my dual sport when slow people are infront of me, they don't expect to hear a horn behind them.

I have an airhorn on my bigred for when we muster cattle. Works well. Its just from a car and I used a single trumpet, it was a dual trumpet setup.

Go ahead, DO IT !!!
BTW, mine sucks, I'm doing what you guys do and get an electric one.
I put mine on as a joke and it is a joke when I'm aside of other riders, I think it sounds like a wounded sparil (one of those tweety birds) or something.
So it's as simple as getting a switch and hooking the pos & neg wire to switch then to the battery ?

yea its that simple, well almost. You need a MOMENTARY switch, some wire, a few pieces of flat stock steel (for brackets), electrical tape, and a couple wrenches  I made a metal bracket to mount the horn to the tripples, when i did this it grounded itself out so all i had to worry about was the positive wire. I happened to have a piece of wire from some foglights on a car i never used and it was the perfect length, perfect connectors on both ends and it even had a fuseable link in it.:w00t: i ran the wire from the positive side of the battery, right along the main wiring harness, up behind the headlight to a switch. then you have to run another wire from the switch to the horn and your good to go.

I did the same thing (almost), instead of a momentary switch i used a spare kill/headlight/starting rig from another bike. I hooked the horn to a relay and the relay to the start button. But it kinda got tricky because i stuck the both sets of switch together on the same side. Meaning the original one for the head light and starter and the one for the horn. seemed like any time i wasn't looking down at the starting button (to start the bike) i would hit the horn instead of the starter button and S*** my pants:lol: ..Also i made sure my horn was connected to the ignition. reason?...because seems like people are attracted to thing's that make noises and they have to sit there for hours on end pressing the button killing my battery. so with out the key turned on, NO HORN:lol: ....Oh and i mounted mine in the back of the bike near the battery , why i dunno.

Thats nothing man, I use to have a back up beeper on mine, every time i put it in reverse it would start beeping, Wasn't long taking that off, the way i see it, if you can't see me backing up and can't see the bright white light on the back come on when i goes into reverse then you shouldn't be around bikes:lol:
