ATC500x

I see someone has just purchased a atc580x with a xr500 motor and a nick nicholson frame. I need any information on where to get a nicholson frame because I have a xr500 just sitting and have been wanting to put it in a 350x, but haven't had any information on it. How much will the frame cost, and has anyone else done a conversion? thanks

Unfortunately, Nicholson frames haven't been made since 1985. There are only 4 Nicholson 500's that I know about. It took me 4 years of hard looking to find one and $4,500 to but it. There was a roached out one on e-bay about 8 or 9 months ago that brought $1,700. Not saying that it's impossible but it would be easier to find a Nice Tiger or maybe even a Cagiva 200 than it would be to find a Nicholson 500 (even just the frame assembly).

Now, It wouldn't be that hard to duplicate the 500 frame. I've been looking at doing it but that would take away from the rarity of it.

good luck finding one,thoes who do have them I doubt will sell them.I really dont think these frames are being built anymore.And if you do find one plan on shellin out alot of coin!

Exactlly, best bet would be a tiger or put your mechanic and welding skills up to the test to make that motor fit. The rarety wouldn't be like a nicholson frame but it would be yours.

Does anyone out there have a 350x frame set up for a xr500 or xl500? And are the motor mounts the same for the XR and XL?

hey, easier to use the bike frame, add on the 350x front and rear.

The XR motor will not bolt into the 350X chassis. I'm saying that if you took the $1000 in parts/fabrication, you could buy a FourStrokeTech or Powroll bigbore kit that would make plenty of power. Conversions are expensive, no getting arounf that fact unless you have all the parts kicking around.

I also have read that with some mods the XL or XR topend will mate with the 350X tranny,,,,,someone else will have to shed more light on that for you though.
