I took my engine apart to replace a crank seal. Thought I'd take the opportunity to strip and polish the covers. Well, I left the oil sight glass in when I sprayed the stripper on it and it turned the outside to nasty gooie mush. It finnally dried, but now you can't see through it.
Where can I get a replacement? Anyone on here have one for my 85 Tecate? If not, what can I put in the hole to ensure it doesn't leak and look hald-way decent?

Sight glasses are still availiable through Kawasaki. This sight was used in lots of diffrerent bikes and still used in current kx's. ( 2 stroke) I just ordered one and it's like $9. To remove use a small punch or screwdriver and push on the backside through the slot used to see the oil. High lo, hi lo a few times and it falls out. It's basically soft rubber on the outside to seal against the aluminum and with oil the new one presses in with your fingers. Very simple.
