Is the 350X stuck with the stock header?

Is there a complete improved system that will allow jetting changes and a AB lid removed??

Or is the 450R modification the way to go, and which system seems to offer the most improvement?

Thanks :)

I have a higher flow cobra header mounted to a 450r muffler, have not had a chance to try it yet, the resto is still in process. I would not reccommend the cobra muffler at all (too loud, no gain). I also bought a xr 500 to put the engine in my other x, but decided not too, the head pipe on it looks to be bigger than the stock 350x header, and I think it would work with some mods. Also I saw a thread about someone putting a 400ex header\muffler on his x a few weeks ago.

I definitly like the 450r mod! You can get them dirt cheap on ebay and they're an easy install. Think I paid $25 including head pipe and shipping. I used the cobra head pipe and got rid of the noisy POS muffler. The 450r pipe flows nice. With the stock tip it's so quiet you can barely hear it idling. But I opted for the HRC tip (3" if I recall) and that gave it the exact throaty sound and performance I was looking for. I didn't pay the ridiculous factory price. I found a guy that was making them on ebay for about $25 shipped. I'm running a UNI w/lid and 142 main. I suggest that anybody with a 350X go this route and they won't be sorry. Hope this helps.

I've got a stock headpipe with a Supertrapp exhaust. No airbox, I just put on a 400ex carb with a Uni 2-stage filter clamped directly on. Seems to work good. I'm looking into the 400ex headpipe/slip-on combo right now.

I have 2 450 systems for sale. There is a reason i have them for sale, the aftermarket ones run so much better. It all depends what you want quiet or performance.
