85 atc 250r What is this one worth? Need Input PLEASE!

Well i found this guy that wants to trade me his 250r for my alpine dvd player thats in my car.
This is what he said:
i got it 5 years ago and the guy i bought it from didn't have a title. it has a +4 swingarm, misc chrome everywhere, the 350x headlight conversion, repacked front shocks with new covers, all chrome wheels, pretty new cascade innovations seat, aftermaket grab bar and lots of others.......all it needs is an exhaust.............literally that's all it needs........the engine is only on it's 2nd bore but the engine is money.......

Now my question out to you guys is What do you think it is worth? How much would u pay for it? The dvd player is worth about $1000 equal trade for the 250r? How much is a decent exhaust? I really need some input for this one!!!

trade, unless you just have to have that head unit.

the prob is that the unit lost its value as soon as you bought it and you could buy one used- the trike is a legend.

man, you got to learn how to shop! alpine dvd player for 1000?! I got a eclipse indash motorized touch screen 8 inch dvd, and nav for less then that new with warranty trade that alpine POS for the R its worth it.

I love alpine i would never put a diff brand of deck in it! i just think i wasted alot of money on i dont even use it. ya it was cool and all the first couple months but now its more like big whoop??? Ya that dvd player is only worth like $700 i think? So if for some reason i would come in a situation where i needed money do you think this 250r is worth more than $700?

hell yea its worth $700 Its totally up to you...but if you never use the dvd player then why keep it? The dvd player will go DOWN in value and the 250r will go UP in value if anything. i personally think itd be a good trade. :rolleyes:

Dude i would snatch that R up without second thought if it was me. Sooner or later electronics burn out and become usless. That R is like a classic car its price will just go up. :beer

If you don't want to part with it, I'll trade him. I'll shoot by my neighbors kids stereo shop and have him order the same unit, ship it out there, you grab the bike for me, I'll arrange shipping :)

You can buy headunits all day long at a competitive price, but 250rs with tricks are a different story. I would not hessitate!!!! :w00t:

ya Im gonna do it! I have to wait for my dad to get back from Canada he has the Exploder. We dont have any other cars to pull a trailer with! He gets back today so hopefully Tomarrow well it will take a good day to pull that deck out! so maybe monday!!!!

i would trade without second thoughts,

syko, have you ever had to use that eclipse waranty? they would not warranty mine because of "normal ware" lol it was 2 moths old... i have had alpine my whole life and i even had one that was 4 years old and it quit so i called them and bought a extended warrenty for $23.00 and then sent it to them and it could not be repaired so they sent me a new one for free.. lol

Ya Alpine is awesome but i really dont need all the gadgets of the dvd player...I guess i will just go to best buy or w/e and get a $200 alpine to put back in it! Ive always wanted a 250r!!!!

well I have an audio dealer liscense so I can get around the warranty red tape, as for head units the top of the line dvd player combos will ALWAYS be SONY and Pioneer, why?? becouse these companys have been making the technoligy for tv's and dvd's for many years, eclipse and clarion not to mention alpine, all use parts manufactured under less stricter rules than the parts for sony and pioneer. I like my ecplise but will soon be swaping it out for a new pioneer coming out this summer that is stupid bad ass!
