Which are you better at, riding your trike or working on it?
I'd say riding for sure.
I'm pretty good at working on mine and give my self just an average rating and above average for the cleaness of the machine when it comes time to work on it but quite sure I could keep up with any of you young ones out there, if we were both on = machines. I give myself an A+ as a rider, B-/C+ as a mechanic.

I'm just kidding, you ride within your skill level most of the times but work beyond your skill level (carbs  ) a lot of the times
Your honesty gets an A+ :beer

I would definately say that I'm a better rider than a mechanic. Although I just love wrenching and shining my machines up after I get them dirty. I should've shined it up before I tore the motor apart though.... So C- for mechanic, and A for riding.

For a mechanic I'm way better at cars then my R, but I get around no problem because it's pretty much the same stuff kinda.. Riding I can do with my eyes closed lol

Honestly, I suck at riding. Just because I wrench more on all of my rides then I ever get a chance to work on them. Not to be an pompous ass, but I am pretty meticulous with all of my toys. Everything has to be perfect(cleanlyness is a major) and everything I do has to be by the books.

Nothing wrong with that except that sometimes ya got to watch, as the books can be wrong!

I'm sure at one time or another we all had that happen. What I hate though is when your real careful working on something, clean it real nice, pick it up and you hear a dink- dinkada- dink on the floor, pick it up and have no idea where it came from. Then you throw it in the "no idea container" to figure out for later.

I would say im a pretty good mechanic..Still learning. But im not afraid to take anything apart. I havent tore anything apart that I couldnt put back together. Might take a few threads on 3ww but I get it.
I can ride my hauler like no one else ;) Havent rode the tri-z's much...still got to fix the main rider one. And my other 2 are on-going projects.

I would say I am better at wrenching then riding. Of course I don't ride much so that is no surprise. I spend the school year on 3ww learning and reading manuals, and then at home I spend free time in the garage with whatever the current project is. The only place around to ride is small so I don't get to ride often, but that’s ok, I bought a motorcycle for when I want to ride. Lol actually I ride the bike a lot but don’t work on it much, if something needs to be done I do it but it is not like the trikes where they are apart for some improvement all the time.

I don't know about that, plenty of my engineering friends here don't know their way around the shop but yet can figure out homework problems that take me forever. Too bad we don't get graded on our shop skills, I would clean up!

Well I can ride good and work on them good...so I say equal for me? lol I dont know, I say I'm pretty good at riding but I still need more practice. For the wrenching part I can do most anything on them within my level (which stops at the trannys, never dove into those), so yea.....

That's "scares" me too, all those gears and shims and springs in there.
I took one apart once, years ago, had to take it to the shop for them to put back together, I hate having to do that!

I wrench at a dealership .................so obviously according to internet I can't do either:(
I should sell my thousands of $ in tools and thousands of $ in specialty and measurement equip, forget all my schooling, and leave the dealership and be a good human............................................. .............................................Yeah right:D
In the mean time I'll wrench to keep my riding fun and trouble free.

 Nah, I just got to thinking that most the threads are about how we work on them and no much at all on how we ride them.
Chris knows his limitations pretty well as a rider, quite rare that he screws up .........

" As far as wrenching on trikes and disimbouling them "
That's (disimbouling) a new term to me, means the same as dismantle I suppose but for some reason it sounds worse, like your taking them apart to do good but your wrecking them?
