i have a little problem on my 200x, it starts up really easy and good and everything, but right when i fire it up i have to give it gas otherwise it will die right away, but once it gets warm, i dont have to give it gas at all and idles pefect, im preeety sure the main jet is the right size cuz i just changed it a few times cuz its cold here, but do i need to change my piolet jet or what, also i tried to turn my idle up, but once it gets warm it idles really high, any ideas? thanx
Is the throttle cable new?
air fuel mixture screw turned to far out??

Sometimes old bikes do that when cold. If its stock, I would completely rebuild the carb with a rebuild kit. This will recalibrate it and should fix its idle.

i just rebuilt the carb in the summer, the bike isnt stock, its got a 10.5-1 highcompresstion piston, a web cam, would that make a difference at all? i have a super trapp exhaust on it, i havent got to ride it in the warm weather since i modded it, i just think its wierd how it wont idle at all, then when it warms up it idles perfect, the piolet jet is still the stock one in there so do you think thats it?

My modded 200x alway used to do the same thing! I would just always turn up the idle when I started it and then turn it back down fter it got warm and started to idle higher. Its probally something rong I just never worrid about it and did that when cold starting it.
pilot, and also cold weather will make things run a bit leaner than normal as well, do you have the valves adjusted correctly?

you could pull your choke untill it warms up...That is what I use to do with my 185s

yes the valves are adjusted right, i do have my choke all the way on and it still doesnt idle without giving it gas

my 86 200x is kind of like that... you have to hold the throttle half way because it dies out while its idling.. it will kind of choke on itself and try to shut off..... but after it warms up (~2 minutes) it runs like a bat out of ****!!
