i know that the 81 250r had drum brakes in the rear. and the 82 had hydrolic. but are the frames the same?

the other question that is stumping me is, i have the Dico +2 swinger. will either 81 and 82 rear ends work? because of the different brakes? i cant remember grrrrrrrrrrrrr

the frames are pretty much the same other than the 81 doesnt have the master cylinder mounting tabs. I rebuilt an 81r a while back that had an 82 rear end on it and worked fine other than it had no rear brakes(didnt bother me) I believe I also used an 82 axle.

Mike, There is also something different about the air intake location of the air box. And how it connects to the frame. I have never seen this myself (because both of mine are 1982s) But I'm thinking someone on here said the 1981 model doesn't have the two plastic air intakes in front of the gas tank.
