Well I scored a nice little atc70 tonight. And the best part is that I didn't pay a dime for it. I traded this guy my parts atc110 for it. It needs a stator and recoil, and thats pretty much it except for some TLC.
So since last Sunday I bought a 1985 250es Big Red for $175 and all it needs is to have the wiring repaired and a new seat, got the 1983 200E Big Red back which I didn't pay for in the first place, and traded for the atc70 tonight. I think I have enough projects to last me a long time.
By the way, the atc70 is supposedly a 1982 model but I'll try and confirm that. It has a new looking plastic tank, and the seat and fenders are in real good shape except for a very small crack.

I have a Clymer manual and the Honda Service Manual in .pdf for the 250es so if those don't have the wiring diagram I will take you up on your offer. Thanks.

Thats basically how we did the trade. The guy's son with the atc70 is 7 years old and tall. My son is 6 and is just learning to ride by himself. Both my 110 and his 70 needed work so we just traded even.
I've been looking for an atc70 since September '06 and the ones I found were just always out of my price range. I lucked up and got a sweet deal on an '86 tri-zinger in mint shape, and my son just got it for xmas. But I would still like him to learn shifting on an atc70 and not the atc110 I have.
I basically just keep an ad in a State sports magazine that is online too with free classifieds. My ad just says I'm looking for old 3-wheelers and I'm always getting emails.
The deals are out there you just have to find them, and sometimes they find you!

Well I think I might have to go through the motor pretty good. Last night I tried shifting it and it would still roll. So besides needing a whole stator assembly and recoil, I guess the shift fork is broke or something.
I really don't mind as I didn't have to pay for it anyway, and I've been wanting to rebuild an engine to get some experience. Though I'm probably going to have to rebuild the 200 engine too.

I still have some work on my 250es big reds to do, so I have a lot to keep me busy.
