So, after jumping threw several hoops and having to return a bent axle, I eventually just settled on a new axle. Got a durablue HD nothin special...took er out today for a test ride and threw the chain...threw it right into the case...threw it right threw the case saver into the case.
I dont suspect the axle had anything to do with it, that all seems in order. But I am wondering if the cases are still available new and best place to find one (dont say servicehonda...I hate that site). What could I expect to pay for a used one? Anyone have one they want to part with?
Heres a pic of what happened....the tail end of the chain got caught up under the part of the chain that was still goin around the sprocket so it doubled up and case saver poped right off. cracks on the top and bottom of where the clutch cable goes in. damn what a bummer.

I'm guessing you have a 350x. For your money I think ebay is your best bet. I bought a complete lower end (case halves, crank, transmission, etc.) off of ebay for about $200 shipped. If you look, you can find one like mine that has very little time on it.

wow.... after seeing this picture, i'm ordering a new chain... mine has thrown off about 4 times.. hasn't broke... but it gets doubled up between the sprocket and the swingarm, and you have to jump on the chain to get it to pop out.... so i'm buying a new chain since i'm out of adjustment......

Had a feeling that case looked familiar  Look into a better case saver next time maybe? That one looks pretty thin and weak if you ask me.

Ya Got the X sold a little while ago...Ill probably stay away from ebay. I was hoping maybe someone on here would have a used case...I feel yall would have a good quality used one.
I figured Service Honda would be the best but I cant figure out theyre site tho...anyone know the part number for the left case? I think that would make it easier. Thanks.

the last one i had did the same thing. i drained the oil. cleaned the area real well with starting fluid and removed the paint. i took it to the welder and he welded it without me removing the engine!!!

I would take it off and weld it so you would never tell its was broken... Did you TIG weld it?

Chains out here rust after ever use...just part of ridin in the sand and salt water. Had I been able to ride a bit longer it would be shinier. And the pic was after I had been towed back....sand covered head to toe, need to get a longer tow strap

What are the differences between the types of welds...any pictures of what a repaired case looks like...I plan on having this bike forever so I dont really want to half ass it...
