Hey guys, I was riding my 83 110 around yesterday and it shot the spark plug out of the head. I figured it would happen sooner or later cause the threads were stripped out pretty bad. I want to try an save this head if i can, Does anyone know what size i should tac this thing to? the threads that blew were stock so whatever size they were i need to go up on. :beer

Helicoil makes a kit specifically for spark plug threads. there is no drilling needed. You just use the tap that comes in the kit, install a threaded insert and then stake it in place with the tool in the kit. I've used it a bunch of times on outboard motor cylinder heads and it works great, just follow the directions. Any auto parts store should have the kit and it is well worth the $ sine the insert you put in is steel so it should never strip again.

10-4 on the heli-coil kits! NAPA is just about the best place I have found to buy them.
