Well after putting the engine in last night and moving the trike around, this 84 T3 seems really heavy.

Do the 85 rear hubs fit on 84 axle?
What bolt pattern is the front rim?
Does 85 or 86 front rim fit 84?
Where do you guys get the high temp O-ring exhaust header gaskets?
How much oil do you guys put in the motor?

(Searching the site for answers can be frustrating)

Well, still have to figure out how to mount the coil but I think some U-bolts will work if I can get the right size and get um to ground.

yes the 85 hub does fit the 84 axle . not sure on bolt pattern (front rim).as far as the 85 86 front rim fitting on the 84 fork , not sure . the copper crush gasket for the pipe can be purchased from Kaw. 1 quart of oil in motor . are you planning on attending TF 07? sorry I couldn't answer all your ?s.

Id rather use high temp silicone to use on both the pipe and silencer. It holds the whole exhaust together with out the springs and bolts, but I recomend using them.
Motor takes 700 ml of oil and the rad takes 1 liter.
I do believe the 84 bolt pattern only fits the steel stock and an aftermarket rim for the 84. The 84 hub was used to put 8/9 inch rims on them.

Yeah the 85 hubs fit, I just sold a really nice pair a couple weeks ago for 30$. They change the bolt pattern to 4/155. The '84 front is 4/4". I replaced my front wheel on my 84 with a new steel one and I couldnt find the same offset(3+5.5)so I ended up using washers to center the wheel. I bought a 85 front hub and a mojave rear wheel to try, but havent got that far yet.

BTW the 84 rear wheels are identical to the front, If you change your rear wheels you can use the old ones as spares for the front, I had to buy new because all 3 of mine were bent.

I was lookin to get aluminum rims and have 4/156 bolt pattern for both my 84 and 86. I am focusing on gettin the 84 runnin first.

I just bought an FMF gasket kit (2 o-rings and 2 springs) for $10 from a cycle shop. I don't think hardware store o-rings will work. One guy did tell me just to use high temp gasket maker but I have tried that with not so stellar results on other projects. I read once you can get some sortof fiberglass exhaust header wrap or material for automotive headers and make your own.

I bought a radiator hose with a 90 degree bend and a union so all set there.

Next problem though is the coolant pipe union on the head pulled out. WTF? Should be an easy fix.

Then I have to fab some brackets to mount the coil.

I put 1.0 liter of oil in the engine but it did not show in the site glass. What's the point of the site glass then? I put about 1.5 liters in my 86 until it was halfway up the site glass.

all you need is the copper crush gasket you can get from kaw, because you already have the rubber o-ring and mabe a little bit of hight temp spread around the end of the pipe . it should fit tight.

Yeah the copper crush gasket was important to get my 86 all sealed up. I have a complete gasket kit so all set there.

You will need 85 forks to run the 85 front hub/wheel, if not you will not be able to use the 85's disc brake. (no bracket for it on the 84 lowers)

I use the copper head gasket but I still get leakage and oil spatter all over my frame where the exhaust exits. Seal it wil hi temp gasket maker and be sure to let it all dry.

There is a lot of weight in the 84 front hub vs the 85.

OK I'll throw some Hi-temp on the pipe too.
