Alright I know there are some die hard oem plastic guys out there but I feel the maier stuff is totaly acceptable for our daily riders and racers. i was kinda wondering cause custom colors and availibility have been a subject on my mind lately.

One day they will decide to stop making the trike plastic. Its bound to happen. At that point, my financial position providing, i would like to make some custom orders of each peice to stock pile in various colors.

Whats everyones favorite? I figure red and black are givens but what color do you really want?

Hmmm....tied for Dark Blue and Zest Orange. Tight race! I'm pretty sure trx250R plastic will work, I have plastics waiting I just need to pic them up.

well um..rear fenders might work, but i don;t think quad fenders will work very well for front fenders...

Orange fenders and shrouds on a black gastank? How bad do you want it? :naughty: Oh and I still gota get the pic for the clarke tank...

by the way billy have you ever seen a 3.5 gal IMS tank on a CR500? I'm thinking thats the tank I'm going with but I still haven't been able to get a picture of one.

Orange frame, front and rear fenders, and numberplate. Black seat, gas tank, scoops. Man that'd look awesome.

Iv'e heard of those IMS tanks but haven't ever seen one...I think I read at CR500 riders a while back that IMS had quit making them and werent going to do anymore until they had an order of 50 because they hadn't been selling that well.

well if the TRX fenders can in fact be modded to fit a trike the rear fenders might be covered.....now...the front..:naughty: .hmmm...lol

I've gota call them. I want a black tank, but I don't want a huge bulky one. blah.

I go for yellow, or black and yellow, black tank, black shrouds, yellow fnt/Rr fenders, silver frame I think that would be hot, or a yellow frame,

I don't see why someone would want to downgrade the greatest trike in existance by making it look like a Z?! LOL j/k guys lol

oh man!! I LOVE the yellow/black TRI-Z's, but for some reason I cant see it being green, even though big bore is doing a green one, If the dark blue is like the yamaha blue now that would be sweet! with silver graphics!!

Louis Mielke

not really start making them, just considering making speacial orders of complete sets of plastic. You have to order 25 peices minumum so we're like talking puting out money for 25 rear fenders, 25 front fenders, 25 sets of shrouds. That kinda thing.

Obviously way down the road.

I personally think making it white like the "87's" would look pretty slick

This sounds like an awesome investment. If I understand correctly your going to buy them so when they quit making the fenders, people in need will contact you. Is that right? Would this just be for the 85, and 86 R's?

Great plan, I hope you don't know something we don't know..:(

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I buy atleast a couple of fenders and or tanks evry time I get a trike. Which is about twice a year.

I think Maier sells quite a bit of it. I hope they don't disontinue it anytime soon. Maybe one of you guys with too much time on your hands could give them a call :beer

i dont see this happenign for a really long time about them stop making fenders for atc 250r's. they still make atc 90 fenders and 185s/200s stuff they would definitly stop them 1st. i really dought they sell alot of them and would stop them due to lack of sales.

Sorry for such a long wait. I see it can already be done. I just got the fenders today. Glad it works!

Alright....well i "retro-fitted" them on there and I see a few problems. About four inches would need to be cut off of the front where the first mount it. No big deal but I will need to see if my seat will fit(I think it might) and will have pictures soon enough.

Ok well the TRX plastics will not fit without major modification.

Drilling new holes(TRX seat has different pattern) and cutting the front 3 inches was fine. But now I would have to cut out a major section of the plastics because the ATC seatpan is about an inch wider than the TRX seat. I'm just going to trash these because the color doesn't fit either.

TRX250R rear plastics:

Verdict - will not fit without making the plastics looking like crap.

Sorry guys

well cant you cut the seat pan skinnier and redo the seat? seams like you only hit a minor snag, quit being a baby and just mount the damn thing!
