I want to send my R axle to be chromed, but I want to remove the sprocket hub on the left side of it first. I've tried wd-40 and a mallet, hot wrench etc. , nothing works, it won't even budge!

HELP NEEDED!!!!......... Or does anyone have an oem stock axle off of a 86-89 R quad or 3 wheeler. I want one that has a decent finish on it.

Thanks

You have to take the axle to someone with a hydraulic press.I used a long piece of 2 inch schedule 40 pipe. You have to press the hub towards the center of the axle first take off the ring clip, then press the hub off the axle.
I took one off with a 25 pound sledge hammer once.I clamped it to my picnic table.Set the bottom of the axle on a thick piece of steel put the pipe over it,and pounded away until it came off took about 100 or so swings and the axle was ruined but it came off:) the axle was bent anyways I just wanted the hub for a spare.A nd well I wanted to see if I could do it:lol:

Thanks for the info.

Unless someone on here has a decent oem axle , I'm going to order a DUARBLUE HEVT DUTY tomorrow.

That's usually your best best, duralubes are a great axel.. and you can be certain since it's new it will be STRAIGHT! I've botten like 2 used axels and they both were bent, slightly but bent enough to feel it when you ride fast

the durablue is GARBAGE compared to the lonestar axcalibur, ive owned both, another thing is the durablue WILL NOT work with a lonestar axle carrier!!! ONLY STOCK! also, the axcalibur looks better, and felt like it was MUCH better quality. i will never order another durablue again unless its my only choice. even the axle spacers had a ***EDITED*** finish and felt like cheap metal compared to the axcalibur ones.... trust me.
