Is there any difference between them?
84 used a 32mm carb. 85,86,87 all used 34mm from the factory. 84/85 are 1st gen, they have the idle screw on the rt side of the carb. 86/87 has it on the left because of the airbox on gen2. I am not sure about the choke off the top of me head.
On my 87 I use a 85 carb that was bored to the max (I was told 38 1/2 mm but not sure). It is alot harder to adjust because the idle screw is touching the airbox. I need to adjust it then put the airbox back on (including tank, scoops and fenders) and take it for a test ride, if not rite try again.

Wow, I did not know the 84 was a 32mm. I always thought it was a 34mm. Thanks

'84 is the only year with the idle adjustment on the left side. '85,'86 and '87 have the idle adjustment on the right side. All years....the choke is operated from the right side.
None of the carbs have an adjustable air screw.
