yeah sandblasting would be the best mediablast sandblast it all works good with minimal if any pitting ive blasted a ton of motors and side cases and stuff and its turns out great. just tape off what you dont want blasted. duct tape would be better the sand doesnt eat it as fast.

you could bead blast it...if you completly dissasemble your motor...if you dont, there will be sand in your motor...glass goes EVERYWHERE

You could also try a Dremel.

I have found if you have access to a "Steam Ginny" they work very well for removing overspray spray paint - grease - and various other years of built up GUNK.

A Steam Ginny is basically a pressure washer that nearly boils the water with heating elements. Super Hot water plus High Water Pressure = clean machine!

no - steam ginny's produce constant hot water - scalding hot......your hot water heater would not keep up + it is prolly not set hot enough to do the job.

I use aircraft stripper. Never had a problem. Of course I dont leave it on for hours. You shouldnt have to leave it on there but for a couple minutes. You may have to strip it a few times to play it safe. Spraty some on, let it sit for 5 min, the spray it off with the hose. Thats what I do. Always comes off.

brake fluid should do it. Have you tried brake cleaner in the green can ? I usually end up with some on the paint and I say a few choice words after. Unless its powdercoat these things should help. Of course they won't eat the aluminum.
