Whats the best pipe?
Hey guys, I know we've been through this before, but what pipe would you recomend for a 350x. I'm looking to spend $100-$250. Thanks for the help

Cobra or SuperTrapp are your best bets. Unless you stumble across a Bassani.

MOst Cobra's and DG's are very loud. like being heard 3 miles away loud. I have a super trapp and I like it, Its a very different sound from the other two. I belive those are your only choices unless you find an old one that is no longer made. I bought a Cobra jet system and it didn't fit the greatest, so I borrowed the head pipes from it and used it with my Trapp end and the rest of it is just sitting in the box.

I just put a Cobra on my 200X. And it is LOUD! I mean friggin Loud! One thing that happened is all the pretty shiny black paint burnt off in 10 seconds. No kiddin, 10 seconds it was all up in smoke, now it's a dull black. I spent $130 on the Cobra. To do over again, I would probably go with a nicer more expensive pipe.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I have a cobra on my 200x and hate it!! Its way too loud. Have any of you seen the oval shaped pipes made by DG? Any good? Here is a link to some of the ones I have been considering.

I've heard the DG's and the Cobras are very similar. I think I would stay away from the DG also.. Do you know if you can put a spark arrestor in that Cobra? I see it has a screw in the bottom to remove the cone.

Cobra and DG are basically a replacement exhaust for the stock (but louder) I'd go w/ supertrapp (or WhiteBrothers E-Series if you could rig it up :rolleyes: )

Damn, I just spent $82 shipped on a new Cobra for my 110, that's all I need is to piss off the neighbors :x

I think it gave me a little performance gain, but not much. Let me know if that paint burns off..

i've had both the cobra and dg on my x's. i just sold the dg on ebay. it was a pretty loud pipe and was a very good gain in mid to topend. when i say good, i mean my x felt like a freakin 2 stroke when it came onto the pipe. now i have the cobra. i don't feel much of a difference in overall power from the dg but the run through the entire band is much smoother, more like a 4 stroke than the dg feelin like a 2 stroke comin on mid range.
either way, both pipes are pretty-very loud compared to stock. if neighbors are a prob, ya might wanna check into the others, but if not, both have given good results for me, i just prefered the cobra as it had the more steady power band throughout the entire rev range.
hope any of this helps, good luck with whatever you decide. any way you go, you're gonna lose atleast 5 ponds compared to the montrous stock silencer and you're definately gonna breathe better.

I had a corba system on my 85 200x and it was very loud also. I never heard the X stock because it came with the corba when I bought it. I remember the paint on the head pipe burning off, but the silencer part with the sticker held up just fine. I've got a pull dg system on my tri Z now, and thats pretty loud too. I'm glad it the exhaust as a nice bark to it, but it is a little too loud. :?
