it's an 84 250r it's bored 60 dual flap reeds, new piston&rings, new cobra pipe, i'm not sure of the jet size, do you think it would help to put a bigger jet in?

How did you know? :D

Anyways, trikeman you may want to just put a bigger jet in to see what happens. This is just my opinion but it sounds like your not getting enough fuel to keep it going. Have you checked to see what the air filter looks like?

No, you guys have it all wrong! You don't have to fix the whole powerband just the bearings in the powerband must be binding :-D

If it was fine before just take out all the jets and clean them good, look for air leaks also.

are you guys kidding me buying powerbands. the only way to change a power band is to have your motor ported carb work performance reeds and a performance pipe as to what kind of power band you want. low end to midrange, topend , low end torque. you cant just go and buy a power band. you have to modify your engine to how your want the power band to be.

It's obvious what the problem is, it's NOT the power band. He said it works but cuts off. His problem is that his muffler bearing is shot. I mean, how can a power band work properly if the muffler is binding?

Good point, Jonathan. Those muffler bearings are a killer to replace.
