Last weekend I picked up a bike that was described as a 1983 Honda Bandito with supposedly a stroker motor(dont worry,I'll post pics tomorrow). The jug is cast 105cc and the # on the engine is TB02E-2005158. Anybody know what year and cc the bottom end is from?

I know the jug is a 110 but I think the rest is older. It has a aluminum carrier for the rear axle and the big 4 bolt pattern.

Checking the main site looks like it's a 1980 110 bottom end. Is a stroker crank easy to identify? I will most likely be tearing this thing down and giving it a ful restoe so I want to know what I have.

Yes, if it really is a stroker crank. Your first thing to look at would be cylinder diameter. and go from there. and all 110's had aluminum carriers for the axle. the 85 just had a different way of doing chain tension. The next thing I would be looking at would be the cam. For a real big bore, you have to resleeve the cylinder and often times aftermarket cams are marked. I bid on the trike and the first 2 times it was listed on ebay was at $10,000 and $5,000. I'm not sure how trustworthy those people were. They thought it was worth it's weight in gold. Good luck with the engine. They said it ran, does it? If it runs, why mess with it, just run it. If it doesn't run, they lied about the trike. You might have just bought a bundle of trouble. Good Luck.

I don't know if we are talking about the same trike. This is the one I won.

I spent about an hour tonight straightening out a few things and it runs pretty good. The only reason I want to tear it down is it does leak from some of the gaskets.

It's the same trike. What gaskets are leaking? If it is a big bore, and the cylinder is sleeved it will not take stock head gaskets anyway. If it isn't big bore stroker, the seller lied, but at least you got it for a good price. I have a stroked 110 and it displaces 180cc's or so. I know about stroked 110's. Believe it or not the rods on a stroker 110 are shorter than stock rods. Take a stock rod measurement and a measurement on your rod and compare. If they are the same, it is not stroked. Also, stroked 110's have a tendency to make alot of crankcase pressure, which may be why the leaky gaskets, or just because it is old, the crankcase pressure needs to be vented. On my stroker I have an old vented long dipstick and I also vented my top valve cover so I don't have all that built up pressure. A real big bore piston will be like 4 or 5 mm over stock, which is quite a bit if you have a stock 110 piston to compare it to. If it is a big bore, when you take it apart, don't damage the piston or rings. You will not be happy if you do. I hope you have experience with 4 stroke single cylinder engines. Also, what size carb and intake manifold do you have. If you have a big bore, stroker, it would not live with a stock 110 carb. If it has a stock 110 carb and intake manifold on a big bore kit, I would be surprised that the trike ran. Please post some pictures of the carb and intake. You have me curious and the seller of the trike did not really seem to know what they had, or they were just misrepresenting the trike altogether.
