I usually scuff them up with a small piece of fine grit sandpaper. Or...the tip of a razorblade to remove corrosion. Use dylectic grease or something similiar, after cleaning the contacts.
As for ground locations, I cant help. Im pretty sure one ground is right near the coil. Its usually a green wire, but 250Rs may be different.

Yes , But dont spray it on the CdI .... Clean you Stator also but you'll need the flywheel puller and a Torqe Wrench to set it at 54Lbs
I just went threw this hole process .... make sure you sand down the ground area.

Remove the spark plug from the head , at night when it's all dark kick it over make sure you ground the spark plug .... see if it will spark now
(i found that it's easy-er if you remove the gas tank ) you can see what going on .
Had same problem , Replace parts till it sparked LOL
mines not a large blue spark , it's small but it's their and can see it ... when it's dark.

Now, another thought(not very likely with a new coil, but possible) is the spark plug wire could have pulled out of the boot a little. I had a no spark condition on an 82 200 I had, and I found the plugwire was pulled out a little, but still in the boot. I stripped some insulation off the end and put the wire directly on the spark plug post, and viola! It had spark!
