I'm almost done restoring my 110, so i'll ride it for a week or so and sell it for something better. I basically bought it to learn about bikes.

So I passed an 83 250r in some kids driveway and i asked him if it was for sale and he said yes. Long story short, someone let off the clutch too quick and drove it into 2 cars breaking their wrist, AND even worse breaking the forks :-P j/k!

So the front tire is like completely twisted off to the side. Other than that it's in fairly decent shape, DEFINITELY needs a serious resto job! Gas tank has a bunch of small dents, orange front fender, rear plastic is faded but ok, as is the seat. I'll post pics tomorrow and ask your opinions on it. He said he paid $800 for it and put $100 into it BEFORE the crash so I was thinking MAYBE $500 as long as it starts right up in front of me.

Also I hear the 84-85's are better, could someone tell me why? Thanks

If you get it check the classified section of the forum here. I have a front end for a 83-84 250r for sale.

$500 ridable is a good price, even if its cherry, and damaged like you describe, thats negotiating power. I would prolly pay it though, They dont grow on trees anymore.

The 85-86 r's are better. I have never been on one but they are a lot better looking, I think they have a smaller front tire and they are liquid cooled, the 81-84 r's were air cooled.

just my .02 )
