Guys,
I'm toying with the idea of selling my R.:(
I've got way too many toys and I'm getting real stressed out with keeping them running. Also I can't leave anything alone and always want to spend $$$ modifying.
I restored this 1986 R over last winter. It turned into an addiction which ended up costing me well over $5k. Basically...The only thing I didn't buy new, buy almost new or rebuild was the front wheel and bearings, brake calipers & triple clamps. Things like fasteners or the tops of the forks that get butchered over time were all replaced. Here's a list of all the parts that went into this...Now it only has about 10 hours on it. What do you guys think I could get for it? Any offers?
Thanks

unfortunatly you can never sell it for what you go into it. its a sweet looking bike and you did an awesome job building it, and a bike like that in arizona would go for about 21-2300 bucks. i know thats probly not what your looking to get out of it but on the sellers market it is still a trike. good looking trikes get up around the 2grand range and rough looking stay around the 1200 range. your best bet might be ebay if you want to see what it will really go for.

I know I surely won't get out what I put in. I know roughly what I'll get if I part it out on Ebay but for the extra money is it worth the time tearing it down, boxing up all the parts and the numerous trips over to the post office.

You guys are forgeting he lives in Canada. It might indeed pull $2100-2300 in Arizona, but the sport bikes go for a lot more in Canada. Granted it wont be $5000, but you would pull more then the $2100 I would think.

3 wheelers are not so popular in Canada.
If I sell I'll part it out to make the most. I figure I could get 3 for all the parts seperately.

thats ture aswell. when i got my R 2years ago the average price was 11-1400 now i hardly see any stat for under 1650. i think the cost of quads have gotten so out of controll that people what to get into this sport have fun and not take out a 2nd on their house.
