Heated grips on 200x

Has anyone done this, since it doesn't snow in MN anymore I might as well put some heated grips and hand guards on so I can ride in the cold, anyone done this on a 200x?

If you put on heated grips, do not use the headlight at the same time.

Trying to use both will overload the lighting coil and burn it out.

You want to make sure the wattage of the grips is roughly the same as the headlight.

alright thanks, maybe I will just go with new grips and deflectors to reduce the wind

i dont know, those heated grips are nice. I have them on my sled, and your hands actually get really warm after about 10-15 minutes of riding. I guess it depends on what time of day you will be riding (light enough outside?), and how cold it would be

I have them on my sleds too, thats why I thought of it the last thing I want to do is burn out my coil though, but I probably won't be riding at night anyway. It can get pretty cold, but I went for an hour this weekend but the temps were in the 40's, my hands didn't get cold at all. Maybe I wouldn't use them enough to be worth while. I am going to do a little more checking on the power requirements and find out how much power my electrical system puts out.

Ive never had em on a trike but I did have em on my Polaris Trailboss...best upgrade I ever did. 5 degrees outside and almost dont need gloves.

I got them on my bike, trust me your limited to either the head light or the hand warmers. And trying to run them off the battery isn't a option, it kills the battery faster then it charges. There nice to have but it's a matter of pick and choose what to use at night.

Have you thought about handlebar muffs? I've never used them but i'm sure they will make a big difference unless its REALLY cold.

I think they are called gauntlets, they are like a big pair of mittens that wrap around the grips and levers and you put your hands in them just like gloves? They seem a little clumsy but much better than frostbite or running into a culvert with your head light off because your hands were cold.

Check out the gauntlets! My buddy had some on his old CBR, did a lot of good.

we (the company I work for) have sent lighting coils to Ricky Stator to have them rewound to support a lager draw. It runs around $80.00 :D Light and heat :w00t:
