Sometimes it has spark sometimes no... Doesn't matter if it's cold or hot. I can try and start it and it won't start go back in 5 minutes and it'll start fine. Does this sound like maybe coil or plug wire? I have tried several different plugs and it's the same problem. Looking for suggestions.

Sounds like it might be the exciter coil . Do a search or look in a service manual for simple test procedures. All you need is an ohm meter I think.

its better to check your wiring before buying parts

make sure your kill switch is tight on the handlebars. I cant remeber if it makes contact with the bars for ground or not. check the connections under the headlight too and make sure nothing is loose. has it ever died before while riding it or does it only have issues after shutting it down?

It'll shut down while riding also... the loose or bad wiring under the headlight almost makes sense... I'll check that tomorrow.
