350x engine color

Does anyone know if an '86 350x engine is supposed to have the outer edge of the head air fins unpainted? They are on mine and I have seen some others like this also. I cannot find an original shot of the engine to compare it to. Thank you

As far as I know, yes, no paint. I was just trying to buy one the other day. Also, just looked at a booklet with the same.

The wider fins should be unpainted on both sides of the head. Mine was painted all black so I had to repolish them.
