I bought these awhile back and they had 20-11-10 turf tamers. The tires fit good but were just worn out. I decided to mount sand tires on them to use at the dunes:naughty: . The tires I bought were the same 20-11-10 size just paddles. Well I went and picked them up from the local shop and they look bad:eek: . The front looks good, but the back is sticking out alot. Is this okay:wondering ? It doesn't look good to me, but I don't know enough about them:confused: .

Looks to me like the rims are obviously too wide for the tires. I sure wouldn't want to run them like that.

Are those rims 11" wide?
I've got 2 sets of Sand Sharks: 20x11x10 on 10 inch wide rims and 20x11x8 on 9 inch wide rims. 10" wide seems the max that 20x11xXX sandsharks want to handle. I've got a some of what your seeing on my 20x11x10s on the 10" wide rims--just not near as bad. If your rims are 10" wide then it must just be the construction of the rim that causes those tires to sit like that. But those rims almost look like they must be 11" wide.

I thought the widest rim that is made is 9". I know rims are made 8", 9", 10",11" and 12" diameter. I had a set of 8 diameter x 9 wide rims and my holeshots kinda looked like those, but not as bad.

It just looks like the bead isn't seated all the way on the backside. I've had a couple of tires take quite a bit of air to finally seat the bead. Let the air out and you should be able to flex the itre enough to see if the bead is all the way out. If not, take them back where you got them mounted and tell them to do it right.

Nope they go up to 10" wide, Seen douglas racing having them.. It's common amoung flat track racers, 10x10 usually

Looks like they welded the "ring" on the outside of the rim instead on the "inside" for (coolness) sake.... the Beadlock side looks normall

I know the guy that did the job personally, and he rides quads alot (I don't hold it against him). He even has some beadlocks himself. He seems to think they will be okay, but I sure don't like the looks of them.
I'll let all the air out and see what I can do, and if I can't get it seated any better
Do you guys think they are safe to use?
Looks like they welded the "ring" on the outside of the rim instead on the "inside" for (coolness) sake.... that is definatly what it looks like, the inner ring looks as if it was welded on later.
Looks to me like the rims are obviously too wide for the tires. I sure wouldn't want to run them like that. the tires that were on them were the exact same size just not paddles. The rims are supposed to be 10x10.

you should use 8 wides for sand skates or perdy much any recreational dune tire. 10 will work but they will be streched out. just cuz it a 20x10x10 dont mean that you are sopose to use a 10 inch wide wheel. they also have a tendancy to come off the bead easier with 10 wides.

Maybe I just can't tell from the picture, but the bead doesn't
look seated to me. I work at a goodyear shop and we run into
this all the time. We apply some black rim lubricant and put
them in the cage (say a little prayer) and air them untill they
seat . Atv tires are generally a pain in the rear to work with
period.

they look like omf wheels.. ihave them on my 250r. the inner reinforcing ring is welded on the inside at the edge......the beadlock side they cut the beed off then weld on there bead lock.... they use douglass wheels.....let out all the air and push the tire off the beed rub a little vaseline on the beed then reinflate. i had to put at least 30 psi in mine to seat.....be very careful and stand back. the inner bead does not look seated. if they are omf my rubber is all the way to the reinforcing ring on the outside.
