oh thanks thats great! i found the problem, it wasnt the oil seal at all. for some reason all the bolts holding on the seal housing were missing and it came out partially, letting oil leak out in front of it. i realized this at about 6:55 sunday and homedepot was closing at 7 so i booked it out there and bought the bolts. its been a day w/ the new oil in it and it hasnt leaked one drop, so i guess thats it. i would like to know tho how it went that long w/o leaking while having no bolts holding the seal in.

thats odd, why would they be missing? hmm another mystery from the previous owner......

yea i know. i know the kid pretty well and i know he wouldnt have tried anything mechanical on it. so i have no idea what happened to them or how it didnt leak until now. :?:
