View Full Version : ATC250R fork brace

For an 85 ATC250R, has anyone ever seen a fork brace available? I've got a Superbrace on my XR650R and it really makes a difference in taking flex out of the front end. It bolts to the top of the sliders. With the ATC fork tubes being so far apart and the front axle being so wimpy, I'm guessing a brace might really improve the front end.
Comments?

I have one that I got of ebay not too long ago. It is on my 200x now but I haven't had a chance to try it out since the X is still in pieces.

Mine is a NASA one, it was labled for a 250R (I think 81-84) but it fits the 200x. I did have to leave off the plastic spacer that it came with inorder to get it to fit right. Is anyone else running the spacer?

I have one for a 83/84 250r and 85/86 350x, it had some plastic spacer with it. I'm assuming this is for it fitting on smaller diameter forks, 200x forks maybe.

Whoa! Something is really wrong there with that. No offense, but that doesn't look right at all.
I have been working on getting one or more if I can.I have a lead on some.

That the same one I have, but it fits cleanly over the top of the bottom fork sections.

The 2nd pic. has the plastic spacer sitting on top of the brace, that is why it looks like the brake is not on all the way. Here is another view without the plastic in the way.
I don't have the 200x or the brace anymore.
