Not knowing a whole lot about the Tri-Z's (learning), can someone tell me if there's a difference between the 85 and 85 1/2? I see them on ebay and have seen a few signatures on here saying they have both. I'm asking because I have someone trying to sell me one and he says it a 85 1/2 and I already bought a 85. Thanks.

85-1/2 is black and red and 85 is yellow and black. Silver wheels on the 85 1/2 and gold wheels on the 85. Thats the only difference's I know of.

I don't think there is a difference. Maybe plastic color, but I believe that's all.

I dont think it is actually an 85 1/2 model, it is just an alternate color scheme that became available after the yellow ones which were kind of an early release 85 model in 84

That's what I thought. But, they could have been produced at the same time because I have seen a higher serial yellow one that was past a red one. If they're the same, I may end up dumping my yellow one and buying the red (prefer color).

From the pics he sent, it does look a lot nicer. Plastic is almost perfect (may need to buff the light scratches). The yellow one, need new rear fender because it melted near pipe, no headlight, headlight case has an extra hole in top for ???? and the shock is weak. So, it may be ebay time in the next couple of weeks.

That extra hole in the headlight is for the over heat light.

Really? It's the one further from the bars right? Also larger?

The Black and Red Tri-Z's were a special edition. Identical except for the red frame, black plastic and silver wheels. Most of the 85 Z's were yellow and black
