Took the x for a nice spin today. Was going down a grass strip where you can just barely get into sixth gear. I had just shifted into 6th and I felt a wobble. Then the whole trike just leaned over and started dragger for about 70 ft. I was scared to death. Tire rolled a long way from the trike. The hub was still attached to the tire and the splines are all stripped. This sucks.

For what I know it's just the hub. I need a new axle anyways since the other hub is welded on. Worst thing is if the axle is bent. I haven't loaded it up yet. I had to walk about a half a mile home. I'll wait till my brother gets off work to help me. I'm still sweating it scared the piss out of me.

sorry to hear about that...I guess is just bad luck, but look at it this way, maybe you can put a wider axle in there, make it look a little beefier!

yep, i complain all the time when people dont use cotter pins on their hub, but as youve seen, theirs a reason them holes are their (unless it sheared), good luck getting er fixed up

I've had that happen to me twice on my 87 200X. It is pretty scarey.

Just got it unloaded... The slines arent stripped. :) But the threads where the bold goes on is. I'll just tap it to a smaller thread and put a cotter pin in the new nut. The old one was sheared off. Glad there was no major damage.
