This is a place where I like to ride to at least 2x a week . It is a pretty good size hill directly across the street from my house. The views are always awesome!

This morning, with the fog over the lake below, was exceptionally pretty.

It is pure paradise ! :beer

15 years ago most of the area around Oakridge was open to riding .We could ride out the gate of my shop and hit the train tracks, and go 30 miles ether way.So much land has been bought up since then that we lost it all ,except a good riding area about a 1/2 hour drive away. The BLM closed our mud flats after a few kids got killed riding drunk, big loss for offroaders. If you have as nice a place to ride as it looks be very protective of it,and thankful.Because there are people who would love to take it away.:Bounce

It is in the northwest hills of CT. The lake below is 600' above sea level and the top where I am is 1240' above sea level. It's a pretty decent vertical climb.
This place is not exactly "legal" to ride, but a few local guys do it. I am extremely careful about tearing up the trail as I am riding.

I love what you did to the photo with the editing:w00t: thats exactly what I was thinking.

I left my house this morning and I put the camera in my pocket hoping I could get the sunrise over the lake. It was clear at my house at 980' elevation. When I got down to the bottom of the hill the fog was so thick you couldn't see 100 yards.
So I drove back home and put the camera in the garage because there was no way I was going to get any photos in the fog and I did not want to worry about losing my camera.
So I cruise back down the hill and head up to the "lookout". as I got to the summit the sun was just beginning to rise and it was crystal clear with the fog in the valleys only. It was incrediable. I stared in awe for about 2 minutes and said I have got to get a photo of this, no one would believe how pretty it was.
So I went down the fire road as fast as I could, cruised back home, grabbed the camera, cruised all the way back to the top and snapped about a dozen photos.

It was a great morning with me and my 200X:w00t:

Thanks for the comments!
here are a few more from this morning

There is ALOT of construction. It is a little town in nortwest CT. Population 3,500.
with 60% being weekend residents only from New York City. We lucked out when we moved here about 7 years ago. Lot of big time New York money here. Average building lot is about $250,000 to $500,000 between 3 to 10 acres with minimal views. The ones with views and acreage (20+) start at about $1,000,000.00 just for the land  There are some pretty fancy estates around here that range from $7 to $25 million. It is pretty outrageous

These next shots are from a couple of weeks ago of a SINGLE building lot on 53 acres. asking price is $ 1.6 million. The land does not include any of the fields I am standing in. It is the woods just down below the fields. These fields are part of a new 800 acre vineyard.

notice my 200x in it's 85 attire with turf tires on it:lol:

i hear yah about the lands being bought up and closed whyzee. i live just north of albany, so i'm not that far from you. love the pics, looks alot like either sacandaga lake or lake george in the morning time. seems like everytime me and my friends go out riding we are always running into places that are recently either purchased and marked as posted or closed by the d.e.c. not leaving us eastern new yorkers much of a choice to go riding. thats why i cant wait till the lakes freeze over, opens up so much space to cruise. like the x, will getting myself one here really soon for a winter project. i had both an 84 and an 85, would still have the 85 today if werent for my ex getting rid of it on me after we split up and i moved out. women!!!!!!!!grrrrr
