totaly not ready for this but my fiance and i were out furiture shoping and then went to get a X-mas gift and i saw a sofa in someones yard and behind it was a 83/84 ATC250R!!!!!! :w00t: i about crapped my pants and thru the car around, got out and ran across the road like alittle kid after a ball. i jumped on it and looked it over. i couldnt find a price tag on it or number tocall so tomorrow i think i may take a run over there again and see if i can get it even if it dont run because its all there.

it had 20in racing tires on it, dont remeber the kind but not turf tamers or holeshot/ITP's. front tire is stock. all tires are pretty bald i think, about 60% gone. plastics were not cracked but some what starting to fad, just starting, seat over was split in about 4-5 places also. personaly i think its been outside for sometime because alot of the bolts on the tripple tree were 100% rusted. pipe and silencer were all stock also. only aftermarket parts i saw were rear tires and red maier rear fender.

how much are these 83/84 air cooled 250R's worth in this type of shape, neglected but not to the point there its a total throw away? i am really excited, i dont have hardly any money at all since i need thousands for a home i just bought but i saw this out of the corner of my eye and its very rare to see racing 3wheelers around where i live. personaly ive only need a 1981 ATC250R in real life but this is the 1st one i ever sad on. i felt right at home on it, for some reason i though they were really big but it didnt seem much bigger then the ATC125M i sat on.

so shoot me an idea on price. i could make it look mint again with time, i know the 85/86 R's can go for alot nice but its not anything nice, just a 22 year old used trike needing a bunch of TLC now.

help me on price, id be so happy to get this thing, it looks freaking sweet!

my buddie payed 700 for his 84 R in rough shape

if it runs ok & rolling. 500 is a steal in my opinion
but ive seen really delapitated aircoolers go for 1000+ on ebay so what do i know

especially with 3 wheelers
its all in the eye of the beholder
some people think they are rare some see them as the devil
so it all effects price

Haggle only you and the seller can determine its actually selling price

I am with Klondike, only you and the seller can determine the price. But we all know the cheaper the better. I am here in PA too, and they are few and far between around here. I sold a good running 1983 250R last spring for $700 with a few oldschool aftermarket parts on it, and I'm thinking now that I might have sold it a little to cheap. If you do get lucky and pick it up, make sure you give us some pictures.

i will, i want to stop by today and see if i can get ahold of somone, its not chained to anything just sitting behind a sofa that looks like its at the street for the trash truck, maybe the R is for trash also and i could get it for nothing or $50.

ill yet ya guys know by tonight how it goes. personaly i like the 83/84 R's better then the 85/86 probly because ive never see a 85/86 i could aford haha.

i wont be getting it, i stoped this morning and asked whats up with it. turns out its local guy thats buys junk and sell it on ebay close to me. he wanted $1200 for it! it was'nt even worth $400 in my mind, the gas tank was crushed on it and chain and brakes were totaly shot.

all his crap sits outside and its junk. i said thanks and left.
