I saw thread that said 250r kicker will work on a Z, what year, cuz i tried the aircooled kicker and the shaft was too big on the Z, so im guessing 85-86 r's work? and what part do i need to "shave" for the right fit. the reason im asking is i come across alot of 250r parts and i may keep a few kickers as Z spares :)

a trx250x kicker works on a liquid 250r also, the arm is too long and doesn't fit into the slot in the plastic. It does bulge out past the pipe and is about 3 inches longer than the 250r kicker. I have one on a 85 atc250r of mine, I use it on a woods bike that has a 4 gallon tank and makes about 230 psi, so the stock kicker was out of the question to use. I have a bungee cord that holds it in.

So if that's the case, obviously the 250R kicker will fit the Z. I have one on my Z engine in the garage.

the 250x you have to grind a little off to clear the case,,but better for high compression motors!

Well i said hell with it and i grabbed a friends 250r kicker and stuffed it on there to try it out. its worked great, But there is a corner of the kicker that rubs the case slightly at almost full stroke, a little grinding will do the trick.

A kicker off of a 250sx will work with no rubing but it dose stick out alittle more then the stock kicker but its not too bad .
