View Full Version : 1984 200x... is it possible?
Ok, see what I need is a machine that will roar and stay reliable. I have an 84 200x but I want to also have this machine be able to rip up blasters and most quads. what I need is a list of parts and things I need to run with the big boys or is this even possible?....I dont want a different year or make I have an 84 200x and I need speed and preformance, or is it just an impossible feat to make an 84 200x worthy of such a dream?

How much money do you want to spend? How much do you want work on it? No matter what you do you will never get 250r-like horsepower. I am happy with my 200x but more top end power would be nice.
This is what my '85 200x is running:
10.25/1 piston
Mid range cam
cylinder head port work
27.7mm carb
Dg pipe (not very great)
13/38 gearing (added about 8-10 mph top speed, with the other mods)
I have been thinking of getting the top end cam but worry about the higher rpm's wearing out the cyl. head faster. Hope this gives you some ideas.
