Since your gf's blaster is so bad, put a '280' blasterd motor in there. It would smoke modded R's then!

why would you go to the bother of putting a 400ex into a 350x when they are basically equal on power and top speed?

Food for thought: the 04/05 TRX450R carb is a popular and thrifty upgrade for the 400EX. Fairly minor mods are needed to the choke lever and air boots to get it to fit. At perhaps 1/3 the price it's a decent alternative to an FCR on modded 400EXs. If the 400EX carb works on the 350x then perhaps a 04/05 450r carb might be worth experimenting with....

anyone know what hp 400ex put out stock???

350x is 29 right? my overbore kit is supposed to give 20% more horsepower so thats roughly 35hp.

I've heard about 22-23 for the 350X and 26-27 for the 400EX, but that's a big argument in it's self. Have you drag raced any stock 400EX's? I bet your close to a stocker or piped 400EX.

Expect a stock 400EX to show between 26 and 29 hp, depending on the dyno (the biggest variable) and other factors.

i haven't i dont think i would have a problem with them though.

i raced a yzf450 with white bros exhaust and jet/filter and he pulled me pretty hard.... lol :)

but i pull my buddies 660 grizz pretty hard though and they are pretty quick :)

i have a 450 carb on my X, DONT DO IT, too much work to get it to fit, it hits the frame and the gastank, booth boots are WAY too small, on the airbox side you HAVE to make your own, the 450 one is bigger than the outside of the rubber on the 350x. And the 400ex carb runs much better on the x's.

As far as the 400ex carb they slip right on, you just have to remove the intake tube from the airbox to the frame. If you want jetting help send me a pm with what you have done and i can probably give you a perty good gess. the 400ex carb is an exclent way to go the 450 carb is too much work and over carbs the engine.

I bet it will be alot closer than you think, you'll have to catch him, cause the 400EX will get the jump outta the hole. Fun racing though, cause of the similarities in the bikes.
