I was wondering how much it would cost to fix a shock that has no air in it b/c the nob was busted off? I figured you guys prolly had this happen trailprotrailpro and was wondering how much it would cost to have it fixed. This kid is selling his 250r w/ extra tires for $1000. Im wondering if you think it would be a good buy. He said its in good condition, starts on 2nd kick. Only problems are..........no air in the shock, crack in the plastic that has been tied together. Whatch ya think?

the shock is filled with nitrogen ;) so it is more expensive. also, welding the knob back on can be expensive so that it can hold all the nitrogen. i would look on ebay for one. i really dont know about 250r's but it could be a good price. is the compression really good? how are the tires? what does the plastic look like? scratched? does the motor have loads of power? rate everything, and then base your price on what everything rates. check for the average price of a 250r, if most things rate as an 7 or 8, then the average price is what you are aiming for. remember, bargain a bit!

In order to have the rear shock recharged it needs to be taken off. I had my rear shock rechared at Chaparral and they did it for free. The knob, or Adjusting Plate as they call it on partsfish cost $8.91.

OK - so what has to be done to get the canister recharged?
I want to bring mine in to my local shop - they'll do it for 10 bucks - but I have to have it off the bike first (duh).
Does this mean totally disconnected from the shock?
I want to ride it this weekend (planning on a 4 day pismo trip) and I know it hasn't ever been rebuilt (this is an 85' R) and I don't want ANY surprises... :) Thanks..

Oh yeah - 3 wheelers rock - I hate it when people say I ride them cause' they're cheap - WRONG - its because I grew up on em', and this R has been in the family since 84'!
