this is my buddies '80 110 he's restoring. He's waiting for some new valve guides and it should be running and ridable.

Is that exhaust even bolted on? And wont it melt the oil cap?

Pete

the head is awaiting valve guides, so no, its not bolted on. Not sure on the oil cap, will get an aluminum one if necessary.

Boxed aluminum frame, stroker 110 engine (181cc), it's all coming together right now. Hope to have it finished soon. It won't be the prettiest, but, it will be a runner.

It didnt look like it was bolted on, but once it is i bet it will look and sound great! And yeah i would replace that cap, i didnt know if that one was metal or plastic. I melted mine when i used to have a XR50 exhaust on mine.

slightly off topic, but when you've used XR exhausts in the past, have they bolted right on or did you have to use the stock exh flange and weld it on?

Pete, When i used the xr 50 exhausts, you have to bend the header slightly to fit over the engine. And since the frame is a box, i just drilled a hole for a mount and it was good to go.

Wow those are cool looking

My 110 is a POS, because of all of the abuse that i have put it through :wondering

So how can you get suspension forks for these? Other bikes? What do you have to modify for them to work? I really want to know the details on this one!

Well I finally took a picture of the progress of the aluminum box frame with the stroker 110 in it. Keep in mind this is the first assembly and it will be detailed when I get all the initial kinks worked out of it. Please excuse the messy basement. Also a picture of an 1985 110 engine in an aftermarket frame with aftermarket suspension front end, DG exhaust, 185s headlight and maltese cross taillight. The aftermarket frame also has all the 1985 fenders and tank and seat.

Hey, I was looking at those exhausts on eBay, how's the quality on them? Do they have a spark arrestor (not that I'm worried just riding on my property, but if I ever get a wild hair and take it to the trails to play I need to have one)

Hey Jared, The box frame is a deal I managed to pick up on ebay. Some of tghe bits and pieces for the stroker engine came from ebay also. It's hard to believe the deals people will pass up on with some of the older unusual stuff. Still working on the suspension 70 too. Having several projects going at once is a pain but alot of these parts aren't available everywhere. The lifan engine in your old suspension 70 is looking pretty good.
