Well since I can't seem to find a half decent set of OEM steel wheels for my SX. I'm going to go new...

So my question is.. I would like to go up to a 9 inch wheel. Becuase a fellow board memeber has a good set of 22x11x9 tires I want. My only concern is what rim do I need to clear the rear brake drum? If I'm going from stock 8 in. to the 9 will that be enough to clear the drum without any issues? Or will the 9 inch not work at all?

Anyone know of a good buy anywhere on the net? I believe they are 4/110 bolt pattern. Thanks for the replies.

yea the 9 will clear, just the other day longbed came over, but his tires were flat so I let him borrow my 8 inch aluminum flat track wheels, well I had to add 1/4 washers on the right to clear the brake drum other than that he ran all day long on the track and jumping to soo fitting 9's shouldnt even cause a worry.

Will a 22x11x9 tire fit that rim? :wondering I know absolutly nothing about wheel sizes...

Yes, the tires will fit those. I had a 400EX that came stock with aluminum 9x9's and I put 22x11x9 tires on the back. 22 is height, 11 is width, 9 is the rim size. Hope this helps.

Everyone's talking about 9" rims. Is there some reason for choosing something other than 8-inch? I'm thinking about replacing the rims on my SX as well. I would like an affordable solution that looks nice. My stock rims are junk.

It seems to me that it just gives more options... The 250X 300EX 400EX etc.. all run these 9's. Also.. I wanted to go with aluminium.. just look better.

My only concern is that I ride in alot of rocks.. I hope the rolled aluminium edges holds up a bit better.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to do something too. My rims are toast, and I've got them tubed because the beads won't seal. Last week I discovered that running low pressure and using tubes apparently doesn't work well together. I think the tube twisted around inside and ripped the stem right off. Anyway, I was thinking that besides looking better, I would be able to go tubeless again too. I assume that's how the modern rims are? Also, is there a difference between the front and rear rims?

8 inch aluminum will not fit unless you put about 1/4 spacers on the right side for the wheel to clear the drum, there is enought stud stem there to do this, and it dosnt look that bad, aslo having such a tall taire and wide as well will further protect the rim lip, when I ride I always carry a rubber malet, this way when I do bend my rims I can beat them back right then (only difference is that I have low profile tires)

Has anyone ever bought from this website?

http://www.motosport.com/offroad/parts.php?catId=1768&cat0=ATV&cat1=wheels&nav=4&sMMY=HONDA;TRX400EX;2002

Their prices seem resonable plus is free 2 day shipping over $100 and I really don't want to get into a bidding war on ebay.

What's with the .120, .190, etc... ? I'm pretty sure that has to do with thickness correct? What would hold up good if you ride in alot of rocky terrian?

Thanks
