well i decided to buy this for 460 dollars, its steering was loose in the stem and one of the forks was bent about 15 degrees or so back. it also had an oil leak at the front of the driveshaft. well i took the front end apart yesterday, the steering was just loose and it was missing 3 ball bearings. i gave the fork to my neighbor who is a machinist and he was able to straighten it out at work on a hydraulic press to within 1/32 measured at the end when rotating it. so now all i have to do is buy fork seals and shock oil and the rear oil seal and it will be set. the person i bought it from bought it a month and a half ago for 675 and im only going to pay a total of 520 or so to get it in better condition than when he got it. i have one question tho, the electric starter seems really weak, even whe i charged the battery. what could be the problem there? could lack of oil cause this? thanks for the replies in advance.

motor oil went low? i think the brushes are burnt, or it is prolly dirty inside.
take your battery to a parts store thay may test it for free,if you can start it by hand and your battery is good check all your contacts and wiring but make sure all your contacts are good and clean if all that is good test your starter motor, most times it's a matter of replacing the brushes.

yeah the brushes might be the case, im not sure. it does turn over tho just not when its on its compression stroke. it goes really slow and i have to help it with the pull starter. i have the trike about halfway apart right now so ill try that while im waiting for my seals to come in.

go to place that rebuild starter motors thay can match the brushes up or rebuild the starter for you, I had my boat motor starter rebuild the bearings and brushes where done it cost me $70.00 CND and it works great!! a auto parts store can tell you who rebuilds starters :)
