is it just me or are trikes not as valued in the states as canada or what.it seems that accross the border you can get a good 250 r for like a thousand bucks and here its $1500 for an 81 250r with a blown motor, crap plastic and bald tires.where i am it seems all there is is big reds and 200 m's,no sport bikes.even my 250 sx was hard to find and it was in not good shape.it had weak compression, crap tires, ripped seat, welded hubs.so far its got new piston, rings, cam chain, valve seals, bore job, tires, seat, fork seals, rebuilt the wiring harness, bearings and alot more. basically the money i had to put into it i could have bought 2 or 3 mint 250 sx's in the states. i want to get a 200x in good shape but dont want to pay $1200-$1500 for one with a 200 s motor, welded hubs, cracked plasticetc, etc. are any other canadians in the same boat as me? also how hard would it be to get a bike across the border, shipped or pick up myself,is it cheaper/worth it?

I agree with you. Over hear all I see is beg reds, 125+200m's a few sx's. I have seen a 350X in the auto trader in Regina for cheap, but that is the only sport trike I have seen in Saskatchewan. And the guy down the street says he used to own a 250r back in his days.

well i sort of agree, but in ontario i've seen tecates, 350x's ,sxs 250r amazing shape for 1500... a lot of big reds and a lot of 110 125 and 70's... so not really rip off here. If i had the money i would have a 350x, 250sx, and 250r.. but i don't :D

well i got a friend with an sx, stevo has 350x and more, i got 200n tri-moto, there are plenty of 110s and 70s for sale in isell... etc. there is a 1984 250r for 1500 bucks in perfect condiiton, only thingi see wrong is the exaust is rusty coloured, but that's understandable.

I bought my '84 250R a couple years ago with a fresh engine for $775. Awesome shape too!! Only thing wrong is the back brake doesn't work.

i just find it hard to find race trikes around here for good prices.my buddy has an 81 250 r but it took a while to find one and he had to go out of province and payed $2000.it wasnt great shape either.i would pay top dollar for a 200x or 350x in great shape if i could find one around here.i've only seen 1 other 250 r but the owner would rather sell his kids than the bike.i've seen a fair amount of sx's thou.

Wow I am just under Ontario in Upstate NY. Kingston is about 30 minutes from my home in Alexandria Bay, NY. You could buy tons of sport trikes over here. I swear every hillbilly in Northern NY has one in there back yard waiting to be loved lol. I have a warehouse full of trikes. Bought them dirt cheap and they look / run like a charm. Picked up my 5th Z for $400.00 last week and needed a coil. Maybe I can start a broker firm for our great friends to the north lol.

I got my Tecate for basicly free. I agree the racers are harder to find then the utility trikes but they are around. You have to ask around and get lucky sometimes to find them but they are around. I know of some nice aircooled R's, a beatdown liquid R, three Z's in rough to horrible shape and no other Tecates besides mine. I'm in Newfoundland.

There are very few racers around here (NW ontario) It was almost impossible for me to find my 200X (with the 200S motor  ) but the price was right at only $100. I can live with it having the wrong motor, the trike was in too good of shape and the price was too low to pass up. Just keep on looking, you'll find something you want for the price you want soon enough
