Here is a good way to extend a 84-85 t3 swing arm .I added 3in to a stock swing arm this weekend and will clean it up tomorrow .Takes about 2 1/2 hr to finish. http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k10/moose53_2006/DSC00691.jpg http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k10/moose53_2006/DSC00692.jpg http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k10/moose53_2006/DSC00693.jpg :Bounce

The swing arm cleans up real nice ,very little weld is noticeable.I should have a finish photo tomorrow.Have to make a green +3in extended brake line for it too.Yes I do a few swing arms now and then for other people. :Bounce

Thats nice looking. I have been thinking about adding an inch or two on my project X but it is mostly going to be for looks I guess since I dont think the power will be a big issue. How much do you charge and would a +1 or +2 hold up to jumps and some trail riding?

A few inches would make a big difference in how it climbs hills . It would hold up as good as the stock swing arm . My swing arms go for $135-$150 ready to paint.:Bounce

Moose,

Thank swinger looks killer, by grinding the welds flush hurt the integrity? Please report if the swinger would handle a good workout, multiple jumps etc...

Swing arm should handle anything a stock one would.Welds are 100% penetration so grinding one side shouldn`t hurt anything. If you are going to hammer it then all you need to do is reinforce it a little more. This one is set up for general use.:Bounce

Did you fab the insert piece yourself or use a donor? After welding, it looks like you just did a transplant instead of adding all new pieces of metal.

I used new steel. 2in x 1 1/2in x 1/8in tubing cut to fit. It would be hard to waste a swing arm just to extend one.:Bounce
